Recently purchased PCM for 99 Gmc Sierra that I own, I just did a
4.8 to 6.0 swap and had Nelson Tune a PCM for me, truck runs great and now I'm able to roast the tires at any speed below 50 mph, I really appreciate the service and the outcome, I will glady recommend to many other peers,
Thank you very much,
Sincerely

Hi Allen,
I
have recently put a pcm in my 2003 silverado ss that was from you. Its great!!! It really woke the truck up especially 1st gear . I havnt ran it at the track yet but i know it shaved some time off. Thanks again for the best 400$ bolt on ever.

I am very happy how the tune turned out. I had the Diablo programer off loaded to stock just before the Nelson tune; absolutely no comparison! Allen spent quite some time setting things up just right. Never had I imagined that the Allison could be made to respond like a quick shifting high performance built transmission. No more lazy shifting (you know that very lazy shift from 2-3 that was so terrible) gone. I have had long tube headers on for about a year and larger wheels, well not so big 285/60X18. This truck now moves like it lost 3000lbs. of weight.
Power increase will not be one of those "well, I think it feels stronger" there will be absolutely no question! With my current wheels from dead stop to the floor I would get like a 1sec wheel spin, with the Diablo maybe 2 sec spin, now I get wheel spin almost all of 1st gear and sometimes a Second Gear Scratch, you will be smiling big time. You will feel the performance increase not just when your deep into the pedal but throughout the range, even moderately into the pedal, I am so satisfied.

Hi Allen,
I just thought I would let you know I got the cpu in and it is GREAT. Everything worked out good and I love the performance gains. It feels like a completely different truck. I will definitely recommend you to anyone, and I believe you will receive some calls from my buddies up here once they see my taillights fade away and wonder why LOL.
Thanks again

Well this one is for all ls1 gto's..
I went to Great Lakes Dragway today about 15 miles over the Illinois/Wisconsin border. Right outside of Kenosha..
I went with three of my buddy's...
John-99 m6 formula (lid, longtubes, cutout) best was 13.3
Fred-99 m6 Z-28 (lid, ls6 intake, maf, catback) best was 13.2
One just came along
I ran 13.9x-14.0x in may when I went to Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois..with just cutouts...
Since then I have put on a cai, dr's, and just free mods.
However the mod that takes the cake is the Nelson Performance PCM tune. OMFG!...

Just a great big THANKS to Sir Nelson!
I stopped in on a Friday evening at about 4:45 to see if I could get my truck tuned... figuring I'd have to get an appointment and wait till next week, Nelson had a few minutes to spare and proceeded to tune! What a great guy! Customer Satisfaction is definitely his game! He hooked up the laptop, we drove for about 20-30 minutes, I really am surprised of the fact that he asked me my preferences in the up and down-shift of the trans, rev limiter, and everything...A real customized tune...not some cracker box tune from Hypercrap or Stupid Chips! I've had the tune for 3 weeks now. MPG went up 2 MPG! Seat of the pants performance is outstanding for a stocker! My Crew Cab feels like a single cab truck now! Glad I didn't trade it in!

Allen,
Just back from a 1400 mile road trip. Seattle to Montana and back. Had the opportunity to exercise the new computer and I am very satisfied. Power in the mid and upper range are much improved. My Tahoe is geared for highway use and response in the 60-90 mph is impressive. I'm glad the Z56 package includes a 130 mph speedometer. I was able to use most of it. My money was very well spent.
Thanks again,
Rod
Allen
Hey I have about seven hundred miles on the tune and it started coming around about five hundred miles. You can really feel it when you are passing someone. It almost feels like the truck is lighter. Went from 14.6 to 16.2 mpg. Very happy with the tune. Going to put an exhaust and gears and will be getting back with you soon.
Dave
Very pleased with new computer, mid range power increase is quite noticeable. Geared too low and too much tire for wheel spin, but at highway speeds it has a lot more punch. If I could only do another increase in power for the same dollar and time expenditure.

wow what a huge improvement on my 2000 4.8 silverado! it was a bigger gain than i expected!i will gladly tell everyone i know how happy i am with your product and service.

Allen,
Installation of the Radix was completed on Wednesday December 27th. I also installed your PCM after the Radix.
With the power of the new Radix and the PROFESSIONAL Tune done by Nelson Performance it left me speechless, honestly. The truck started right up and learned the idle within 30 minutes. I used my HP Tuners software to monitor the startup process and everything looked flawless. I was very sceptacle trusting someone with all the aftermarket variations of this truck after doing all previous tuning of the truck myself, but all that went away after the first drive. I would just like to say I could not have asked for more in a tune.
The streetability of this truck was out of the question before I considered using Nelson Performance, but I have now discovered this truck can very easily be driven every day and under every driving condition. Not only does this truck run flawlessly on the street, it screams on the highway. All while averaging 14.0 mpg, even when my foot is happy. However, when I feel like it, I CAN make the gas gauge move pretty quickly.
Using my permanently wired Innovate LC-1 I also noticed a precise WOT a/f ratio of around 11.2-11.6. Nice and rich for me, couldn't ask for better. I will recommend you to all of my customers for any serious mod, like a Radix, that I am unable to tune for as long as Nelson Performance is around. I had a very good experience dealing with you and your business. The quality of your customer service and shipping service is of the utmost, only the quality and accuracy of your tune will top that fact.
Thank You very much Allen and Jonathan Nelson of Nelson Performance.

Hey Allen,
Holy smoke! What a difference over stock! I like the way it hits 2nd and
just keeps spin'in. And it isn't even broke in yet.... Good work once
again.

Allen, just wanted to pass along another success story..just installed the tuned PCM in my 03 Silverado SS.Holy #&*! Talk about waking a sleeping giant! After a brief relearn.this thing flys and I do think I am up a MPG or two if I keep my foot out of it. Thanks for the great tune.

Wow! I didn't know so much could be done in the tune! I'm finally seeing the power I expected from the cam swap!

NOTE: This is a message that was posted on another board...
Just got my truck back from Allen's shop and all I can say is WOW! He did the tuning, Radix, cam, shift kit, and boost cooler install for me. We discussed what I wanted and didn't want as far as driveability, performance, and reliability were concerned. I told him I wanted the feel of a built big block under the hood without the noise, driveability issues, and poor fuel economy. The combo of parts in my signature is what he suggested and what I agreed to.
The GMC is an absolute blast to drive. It's over 400ft/lbs of torque anywhere above 2400 rpm. Torque peaked around 450 at 3600. Hp peaked at 415 at 5250 rpm. Allen said those numbers converted to engine torque and Hp would be over 500 hp and 550 ft/lbs. The truck has no bad manners other than a tendency to roast the rear tires with anything over moderate pressure from my right foot. Haven't got a chance to check the fuel eco yet, but I'm expecting it to be close to what it was pre radix. No need for a looser converter as this thing has awesome low end power. I will eventually either opt for a 6speed or a built 65. I'm hoping the one in there now will last a while though.
About the only thing I'm going to add is a quieter exhaust. The corsa wasn't too bad pre radix, but it's much too loud now. At WOT, I don't think open headers would be much louder. Allen had my truck on the dyno when I got there to pick it up. Without fingers or plugs in one's ears, I'm sure permanent hearing loss would have occurred.
Allen Nelson is one sharp guy. He's a tremendous resource when it comes to tuning and understanding what makes these things run. We talked about all sorts of combinations including STS turbo systems. After all that, we settled on the setup below. Attaboy Allen! You got this one dead nuts right on.
Rodney "old motorhead"
Allen,
Today I drove it in to work, and for the most part I took it kind of easy because of all the school traffic. I probably will not get a chance to really spin it up until the weekend. However, it sounds awesome. :-) I was driving with the windows down to get a feel for the exhaust notes and when I heard those turbos spin up, I couldn't get that stupid grin off my face. :-) I'm hoping this weekend is nice, because I want to see what this baby with do with her new lungs and all... :-)
Overall all, I think that NP did an excellent job with the installation and tuning of my Vette.
I especially love the under hood appearance. It's hard to tell that its not stock. Maybe I should have had the intercooler painted flat-black to blend in as well. Even my co-worker, that dropped me off to pick it up, didn't see what the big fuss was about, when he looked under the hood. I told him that was the point. It looks stock for the most part. Thanks to NP, I would say that its a sleeper in the sports/muscle car class. Excellent installation, excellent service, and excellent customer support.
Thanks to you, Jon, and the entire NP family for your outstanding work

Allen,
It's been several weeks since you sent the retune for my engine swap. We
finally found time to do it this past weekend and I wanted to take a minute to
give you a update on how it went. I'm happy to report that all
went well. The move from my 4.8 to this 5.7 is like day and night. The
added torque on low end is great. Your retune seems to be right on. The guy that
helped me do the install hooked a computer to it when we test drove it.
He wanted to confirm that air/fuel and shift points were good and there was no
detonation. He didn't give me any specific data but smiled and commented
that everything seems fine. The shifts with the Corvette servo are great too...firm but not
harsh. The only problem I see now is keeping tires on the back end. I can
light them up at will now and that second gear chirp is sweet. Turning the
tires wasn't an issue with the 4.8. I had to get the RPM's up to get it going.
Allen, I just wanted to thank you again for getting me retuned one more
time. I appreciate you taking the time to get it right and your quick response.

Allen,
Got your emails, thanks for the information.
The SD Tune is awesome! The driveability is as good as stock. The truck runs perfect under low boost, high load conditions and the power is simply awesome. Also, great mileage on the highway. I will get exact mileage and let you know.
Thanks for the great work!

Hi Allen,
This is Kyle, just wanted to tell you that the tune is great. Just got back to Fort Worth this afternoon, and noticed a huge improvement on my gas mileage. I think I will have about 50 to 75 extra miles to a tank now. I filled up in Austin and I have yet to finish that tank off. As far as the performance goes, it is the best that I have had yet. I will be going to scheduled dyno day around here soon and I will let you know what kind of numbers I am running.
Thanks again,
Kyle - 2003 S-10 v6
WOW!
I am very impressed with the tune. It is a night and day difference. I had to do the idle relearn which took about 1 minute. I will recommend this new pcm to all my friends that drive the ls1 trucks. Thanks a lot. I couldn't ask for anything better!!

"Well I am back, 1000 miles and an average of 28MPG @ 70mph. I am very happy, Unfortunately I had to run the 93 Octane tune because I left the house 2 hours before I got your tune. LOL. Oh well, now I have a 87 tune anyway thanks for that."
"Give yourself a pat on the back, this little 325 ran door handle to door handle with my brothers 1995 GMC Sonoma that has a Gen I 400CID. He runs 12.01@110mph N/A."
