Saving the original backup tune and current tune (Last Tune Written) to your PC:

  1. 1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of the DSDownloader app on your PC.

  2. Once the install is complete, run the DSDownloader program.

  3. Once you open DSDownloader, click "Options" and make sure there is a check mark next to "Auto Connect".

  4. Once Auto Connect is enabled, the DSDL will search for and find your Predator on its assigned COM port.

  5. Once it finds your Predator, you will be taken to the Express Tune page. From here, click "Get tune file from Tool".

  6. The DSDownloader will ask you if you want the "Original Backup" or the "Last Tune Written". Click "YES" in order to export a copy of the "Original Backup" tune file from the Predator.

  7. Once the file has been exported from the Predator, the DSDownloader may ask you if you would like to save it in the ".ori" file directory. Choose "NO" and select your own folder location, or your desktop, to save the file to so that you can find it easily.

  8. Your "Original Backup" tune file is now saved to your PC.

  9. Now, Repeat the steps above in order to export a copy of the "Last Tune Written" - because the tuner creating your custom tune for you will need BOTH files. So, from back at the Express Tune page in the DSDownloader, click "Get tune file from Tool".

  10. The DSDownloader will ask you if you want the "Original Backup" or the "Last Tune Written". This time, Click "NO" in order to export a copy of the "Last Tune Written" tune file from the Predator. This file is a copy of the current diablo tune installed in your vehicle.

  11. Once the file has been exported from the Predator, the DSDownloader may ask you if you would like to save it in the ".ori" file directory. Choose "NO" and select your own folder location, or your desktop, to save the file to so that you can find it easily.

  12. Now your "Last Tune Written" tune file is also saved to your PC.

  13. Email BOTH of those tune files to your tuner.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The tuner will make the custom tune for you, and then email the custom tune file back to you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Now - After they email you back with your new custom tune file attached, you'll need to save that custom tune file to your PC and load that custom tune into your predator, so...

Importing a custom tune into the Predator:

  1. Open up the DSDownloader and connect the Predator to the PC and power it up.

  2. Let the DSDownloader auto connect to the tool.

  3. On the DSDownloader press the "send tune file to Predator" button.

  4. You will get a new window asking you to select the file for importing.

  5. Browse through your PC to find where you saved the custom tune file, and click it once, then click "open".

  6. If this is the first time you are sending a tune to the Predator, you will get a new window saying "a valid base file could not be found". So you need to click "Yes".

  7. Now, browse your folders or desktop to look for the copy of your "original backup" tune file you saved before, and highlight it - then click "open".

  8. The DSDownloader will automatically compare these files to determine if they are the same size and of the same calibration.

  9. Once it determines the files are OK, it will import the custom tune file to the Predator. This will all happen very fast, usually in under 10 seconds.

  10. The DSDownloader will tell you that the import was successful, and the Predator screen will show/flash "import OK".

  11. You may now unhook the Predator and go to the vehicle to install the custom tune.

READ "** IMPORTANT NOTE" BELOW BEFORE INSTALLING TO YOUR VEHICLE!

=================================================
=================================================

** IMPORTANT NOTE: your predator may prompt you to say that you are changing tunes, and then ask you if you want to "Reset All Parameters?" - make sure you answer/select YES to this question to reset the parameters that you adjusted before. The changes you made yourself before are already in the custom tune, since you copied it out of your car to send to the tuner. If you select NO, then it will apply your adjustments on top of the adjustments that are already in the tune, and it will get ugly.

You can also still modify the custom tune just like any of the performance tunes.

Do the install just like any other performance tune, and you're good to go with your new custom tune.
